The Big Top

Music & Comedy Festival

This event consisted of four days of entertainment making the most of a huge big top tent and the surrounding park.

The first night was a night for young clubbers, aged 11-16, called Snap. The second night of rock music featured Rachel Stamp, DumDums, Angel and Hundred Reasons.

Night three had comedy legend Sean Lock, Jo Enright, Mark Maier and was compered by Mark Little. It was presented in association with Hecklers.

The fourth day began with military tanks crossing the site towards us… This was the (somewhat random but it was what the client wanted) army re-enactment day and featured arena events and various static displays.

The Diehard Company were on display on the fourth day

The arena events featured The Diehard Company (1880s British Infantry), the 17th Lancers Display Team (1890s British Cavalry), a First World War display featuring horse drawn artillery, 32nd Guards Brigade and Post-War vehicles from the local military museum’s collection.

Matthews Family Fun Fair were also present as they had historical connections to the area.

This 4-day Big Top event was directed by me, working with Sean McCarthy, who I knew from FishPig and their involvement in the early development of the GuilFin Ambient Lounge.
